When I started landscape photography, I never thought it would turn into this.

It took 13 years of highs and lows to get here.

When I started my landscape photography business I was a new college grad, the job market was in disarray, and many people were still reeling from the 2008 economic crash. Not only that, but my wife and I made many life changes like deciding to move to Haiti to be missionaries only to be emergency evacuated after 2 years abroad.

At that point, I was barely making any money as a photographer. That might have seemed like a big waste of time to most people, but it was a sign of hope to me that I could one day have a photography career while helping others improve their photos.

"This is going to be hard... really hard"

The side hustle was real in the early days. Working a full-time job, family obligations, and the missionary part of life left little time for photos. But I was determined to succeed. 

I stayed focused and took my camera everywhere. Even if it was a split-second shot off of the side of the road on the way to work, the photos never stopped. 

When my wife and I returned to the United States from Haiti in 2019 I went through even more struggles, fighting through PTSD from what we'd experienced. Then my daughter was born. 

Still, I used my photography as a form of therapy during that time. The photos never stopped.

At that point, I had a choice to make: Keep finding the here-and-there photo gigs, or go all in on helping others with their photography.

Scared to death, I followed my passion to go all in and help others realize their photography goals.

I didn't know exactly what it was going to look like at the time, but I knew I needed to figure it out.
