NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm David Johnston

After getting a desk job I quickly realized my real dream was to become a full-time landscape photographer. I worked on photography on the side for six years before making the jump to a professional photographer.

Now I use the knowledge I've gained since 2010 to help others master their camera, ignite their composition, and realize their own dreams of earning an income with photography.

My Story

I always knew I wanted to do something creative with my life, so I bought a camera and dove headfirst into photography. Once I got an expensive camera, I thought my success was guaranteed. Then once I  realized that a good camera couldn't produce the results I hoped for, my dreams of a better life seemed out of reach.

I felt frustrated and helpless, but I had worked too hard to let my dreams slip away. I dove into camera settings and composition and came up with a system that allowed me to take better photos, build confidence with my camera, and earn money with my photography. Now I empower others on their journey to realize their photography goals.

Why I Do It

Being a photographer is not something I thought could be a reality. While I was surrounded by creativity my whole life, I bought into the idea that you had to get a "real job." Struggling to be happy at a desk job inspired me to aim higher. But despite my best efforts, I still found myself drowning in confusion around camera settings and composition.

Once I understood my camera, I realized that the methods I used could help others like me who wanted the same but didn’t have access to the framework to make it happen. So I made it my mission to help as many people as possible realize their photography goals and create a better life for themselves and their families.
